Job Title: Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at our schools in Romford.
As a Complex Needs LSA, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with a range of complex needs, including but not limited to autism, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioral difficulties. Your main responsibilities will include assisting in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs), supporting students with their academic and personal development, and promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with complex needs, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.
Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and independence, both within the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
Work collaboratively with other members of the school's multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, educational psychologists, and therapists, to devise and implement effective support strategies.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, and communicate effectively with parents/carers and external professionals as required.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people with complex needs is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting the diverse needs of students in a challenging educational setting.
A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
