Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor

Salary: CIRCA £400 per day (Contract) / Up to £60,000 per annum (Permanent)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee and manage mechanical works within the water industry. Based in South Yorkshire, the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities across various water treatment and distribution projects. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge infrastructure projects critical to improving water supply and treatment in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the mechanical installation and maintenance of water treatment facilities, including pumps, valves, pipelines, and associated equipment.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a strong commitment to HSE best practices on all project sites.
Oversee daily site activities, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and within project timelines.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and coordination on all mechanical works.
Review technical drawings, specifications, and contracts, ensuring that all mechanical installations meet industry standards and client requirements.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems.
Conduct site inspections and quality control checks, ensuring the highest quality of workmanship.
Manage project resources, including personnel and materials, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Prepare and submit progress reports, ensuring that all necessary documentation is maintained and up to date. Requirements:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor, preferably within the water industry or similar infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, equipment, and mechanical systems.
Experience in supervising the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Thorough understanding of HSE regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Proficient in problem-solving, with a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related discipline (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent). Desirable:
Experience with AMP7 projects (or equivalent).
CSCS card and SMSTS certification. Benefits:
For permanent positions, we offer a competitive salary package of up to £60,000 per annum, along with benefits including a company pension scheme, holiday entitlement, and opportunities for career progression.
For contract positions, we offer a competitive day rate of around £400pd (dependent on experience).
