Waste Collection Operative - Yeovil

We are currently recruiting for a Waste Collection Operative to collect bulk waste and litter from communal areas around Yeovil.

This position will start in October and be temp for 3 months and potential of a permanent vacancy after that 3 month period.

£12ph PAYE.

Waste Collection Operative Job Role

• Collection of bulk waste and litter from communal areas
• Disposing of in the correct manner in line with current disposal guidelines, including recycling.
• Assist other teams as required including removing and disposing of green waste during hedge cutting season
• Providing an efficient, timely and effective service.
• Ensure collections are made from site in a safe manner, always considering customers and public.
• Use a reporting system to record site visits and record tasks carried out
• Adhere to Health and Safety Policy
• Ensure that equipment is regularly washed and in good condition and report any defects to your supervisor.
• Be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are kept clean with regular checks to oil and coolant levels reporting any defects to the Fleet Coordinator.

Waste Collection Operative Requirements:

• Previous experience doing a similar role would be preferrable
• Good driving skills and awareness using a large wheelbase vehicle
• Driving licence including the correct categories for the vehicle used
• Able to undertake physically demanding work in all weathers.
