TeacherActive is looking for a SEND Teacher in Doncaster to work in a specialist school that caters to young people with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Complex Needs. This school offers residential care and education to 8 19-year-olds with special educational needs and offers its students a sports hall and fitness suite, a hydrotherapy pool, a sensory room, and horticultural. We are ideally looking for someone to work full-time.

As a Teacher, your responsibilities will include assisting the teacher with lessons, working 1:1 with SEN students with complex needs, and creating a calm and purposeful learning environment. We build great relationships with our schools and support staff so we can find the best placements for you. We are looking for Teachers to cover day-to-day, short-term, and long-term placements supporting children with their education. The ideal SEND Teacher should have the following:

• QTS/PGCE/ Cert Ed or other relevant teaching qualifications
• Experience with Autism, Learning Difficulties and challenging behaviour
• Have experience working with young people with differing needs and destination aims, and developing appropriate strategies to help them achieve their goals
• The ability to follow the National Curriculum and provide creative lessons
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with a practical approach to engaging pupils
• The ability to build good relationships with the staff and pupils
• Fantastic classroom management
