Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Blackpool, starting Monday, 28th April for the length of the summer term (term time). The hours are Monday - Friday 8:30-3:30. This is a catholic Primary school with a strong focus on English, phonics and literacy skills. They have an inclusive approach and wholesome school layout and culture designed to make children feel safe and learning accessible.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on the lives of two individual children:

In the Morning (AM):

• You will provide 1:1 support to a lovely Year 1 child who requires assistance with their social and emotional needs, specifically supporting attention and focus within the classroom.

In the Afternoon (PM):

• You will provide 1:1 support to a delightful Year 3 child who also experiences similar social and emotional needs, with the additional requirement of reminders to use the toilet (approximately twice during the afternoon session, at break time and towards the end of the lesson before school pick-up).

We are looking for someone who is:

• Qualified L2 OR L3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Previous 1:1 or SEN experience.
• Patient, understanding, and empathetic.
• Proactive and able to use their initiative.
• Excellent at building positive relationships with children.
• Able to support learning and engagement in the classroom.
• Reliable and committed to the role.
• Experience working with children with social and emotional needs is desirable but not essential.
