Interim Finance Manager

We are recruiting an interim Finance Manager for a leading player within the Education sector. A privately owned business and a market leader in its particular field, following the recent recruitment of a Finance Lead, they are now looking to bring in an experienced, preferably qualified, Finance Change Agent. This is to deliver on some key Finance Projects, which need to be completed before the end of this year.

Overseeing a small Finance team, you will have had previous management experience and be comfortable with the mentoring and development of the members in your team.

You will have a keen eye for detail, be confident in what you do, be comfortable delivering presentations to board level and have a keen eye on improving the quality of reporting and analysis in the team.

As Interim Finance Manager, your responsibilities may include:

* Lead and mentor a small team, through your own actions, to deliver on the agreed project criteria. Providing the team with guidance and support as the business looks to seek continuous improvements on the way things are done.

* Produce monthly management accounts and reports with strict adherence to company policies and timetables. Look for ways to improve processes and reporting working directly with the Executive Chairman.

* Maintain an in-depth understanding of the key drivers of the business to derive clear and succinct analyses of the ongoing financial performance of operations.

* Maintain and improve cash flow forecasting processes and lead treasury insights working with our banking partners to optimise effective management of working capital.

* Ensure compliance with relevant tax, accounting, auditing, and external reporting requirements.

* Leading and coordinating the annual external audit.

* Prepare and monitor performance against forecasts and budgets.

* Provide analysis and strategic insight to senior management on a proactive basis.

* Seek to improve productivity and efficiency through the development of processes and controls.

* Build and nurture relationships with key internal and external parties including banks, auditors, and legal counsel.

* Deliver all company secretarial responsibilities

We welcome applications, for the position of Interim Finance Manager, from candidates with the following skills, experience and attributes:

* Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with relevant PQE.

* Strong accounting systems experience, ideally with lead experience on a system implementation.

* Early education experience would be beneficial.

* Strong focus on controls and processes and high attention to detail.

* Up-to-date technical skills for preparing statutory accounts.

* The ability to work closely with external stakeholders.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with business partners and ensuring processes are being followed.

* Strong people manager who can evidence prior development of staff.

* Confidence to challenge senior opinions and maintain positive working relationship.
