Learning Support Assistant (Intervention Specialist)

The role

This full-time, term-time position begins in September 2025 and is perfect for someone with experience or ambition to work in targeted academic interventions across Key Stages 3–5, while also supporting the wider school community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver small group or 1:1 academic interventions in core subjects (English, maths, science)

• Track and report on student progress, adapting sessions based on individual needs

• Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to identify and address learning gaps

• Provide in-class support when needed, ensuring students remain engaged and supported

Ideal candidate

• Previous experience in an intervention or learning support role

• Strong academic background and confidence delivering subject content up to KS4/5

• Passion for education and personalised learning

• A calm, proactive, and flexible approach to working with students of varying needs
