Fox Morris Group is excited to be working in partnership with Sefton MBC to recruit an experienced and compassionate Missing from Home Worker. This role is pivotal in supporting young people who have been reported missing and ensuring their voices are heard through advocacy and post-return interviews.
🔍 Job Purpose
*
Conduct Return Home Interviews for children and young people reported missing, in line with the Missing from Home protocol and statutory duties.
*
Provide independent advocacy and support for young people post-missing episodes.
*
Identify safeguarding concerns and pass intelligence to Social Workers and Police.
*
Play a key role in influencing care planning and improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
📝 Key Responsibilities
*
Engage directly with children and young people to understand reasons behind missing episodes.
*
Record and analyse push/pull factors to support care planning.
*
Offer advice and education on the risks associated with running away.
*
Maintain accurate and timely records and case notes.
*
Work flexibly and creatively to build trust and positive relationships.
*
Ensure needs are assessed holistically in the context of family and community.
*
Collaborate with agencies and promote local youth services.
*
Act as a professional representative of the service across multiple settings.
✅ Requirements
*
Proven experience working with children and young people, ideally in safeguarding or advocacy.
*
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
*
Ability to work flexibly and manage a varied caseload.
*
Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
*
Enhanced DBS will be required
