Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver for trunking operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining our high standards of service.

A DBS is required for this role, this will be at your own expense initially but we will reimburse the cost after qualifying period.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles to transport goods between locations.
• Conduct thorough pre-journey vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork.
• Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding any delays or issues encountered during transit.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
• Assist with flatbed operations as required, ensuring secure transportation of goods.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence is essential - Minimum 2 years held
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is preferred.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• A commitment to providing excellent customer service throughout the delivery process.
