Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Sheffield, S4

Full Time Monday-Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm

Start: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in the S4 area of Sheffield on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated practitioner who is passionate about supporting children's learning and is confident leading whole-class teaching in the absence of a teacher.

About the Role

As an HLTA, you will:

Cover classes during teacher absence across primary age groups

Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure continuity of learning

Support pupils' academic and social development

Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies

Work closely with teaching staff to support pupil progress

Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups where required

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

A relevant Level 4 qualification (essential)

Proven experience working with primary-aged children

Confidence in leading whole-class learning

Strong behaviour management skills

A flexible, professional and proactive approach
