SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Edgware, North West London
Daily Rate: £85.20 £120 per day
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Edgware. This is a full-time opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Support learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Encourage pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with behaviour management using positive and consistent strategies.
• Adapt support to meet individual learning needs and learning styles.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Support pupils in developing independence, confidence, and resilience.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs (preferred but not essential).
• A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to supporting children s learning and wellbeing.
• An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
