Apply Now
Smile Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN primary school based in Tamworth and part of The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust. We are seeking multiple Teaching Assistants to support the school on a flexible day-to-day basis, with opportunities to secure regular long-term placements.

About The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust
The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust is committed to encouraging every member of its community to be the very best they can be. This commitment is underpinned by strong values of equity, respect, and opportunity, ensuring that all pupils and staff are supported to thrive.

About the School
Located in Tamworth, this specialist SEN primary school is proud to offer a teaching provision that enables all pupils to lead fulfilling lives and become as independent as possible. Through developing individual strengths and fostering a positive "can do" attitude towards life and learning, the school creates an environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The school caters for a wide range of special educational needs and carefully plans and develops curriculum opportunities that are tailored to the needs of its pupils. This enables children to develop meaningful friendships with like-minded peers while building the skills and confidence needed for future success.

A key focus of the school is developing caring, creative citizens by helping pupils to:
  • Build self-knowledge, self-esteem, and self-confidence
  • Distinguish right from wrong
  • Accept responsibility for their actions and behaviour
  • Show initiative and independence
  • Understand how they can contribute positively to their community
  • Develop respect, empathy, and understanding towards others
The Opportunity
Due to ongoing demand, the school is seeking multiple Teaching Assistants to provide cover for staff absence, training courses, and additional support requirements. There are opportunities for both flexible day-to-day work and regular long-term placements for candidates looking for greater consistency.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience within specialist education, take the next step in their career, or secure a role that offers greater work-life balance. Flexible working patterns allow you to fit work around your existing commitments while making a genuine difference to children's lives.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, personalised, and inclusive learning activities
  • Supporting pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development

  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • The ability to provide a minimum of two years' employment and/or education references
  • At least one reference must specifically comment on your experience and interaction with children or young people
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
