Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme

Job Type: Full-Time / Long-Term

Salary: 140 - 180 per day (dependent on experience and pay scale)

Start Date: September 2026

Astro Education is recruiting on behalf of a thriving secondary school in Newcastle-under-Lyme seeking an enthusiastic and talented Drama & Dance Teacher to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that develop creativity, confidence, performance skills, and a love of the performing arts.

The Role

As a Drama & Dance Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Drama and Dance lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence in students
• Assess, monitor, and support student progress
• Contribute to school productions, performances, and extracurricular activities where appropriate
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Drama and/or Dance at secondary level
• Strong classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• A genuine passion for performing arts education
• The ability to motivate and engage learners of varying abilities
