If so, GSL Education has an exciting opportunity for you to join one of their client schools based in Islington!
This is for an Alternative Provision dedicated to supporting children and young people with medical and mental health needs. The students, aged 11-16, may be dealing with challenges such as anxiety, self-harm, adverse childhood experiences, and trauma. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our client school and make a positive impact on the lives of these young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide emotional support to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create a supportive learning environment
Assist in the implementation of individualised support plans
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students
Candidate Requirements:
Right to Work in the UK: All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
Safer Recruitment Background Checks: Successful candidates must meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks.
Enhanced DBS Check: A valid Enhanced DBS check is required, or the candidate must be willing to apply for one.
Commitment to Safeguarding: Must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Adaptability and Enthusiasm: The ideal candidate will be adaptable, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with young people of all backgrounds.
Experience as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in a school setting would be an advantage
Good understanding of SEN policy followed in schools
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals.
Caring and compassionate nature, with the ability to connect with and support students effectively.
