In this mainstream role, you will be responsible for supporting a young boy with his SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) as he goes through his day to day school life.
Having ASD (Autism), he requires consistency and patience, he is loving, caring and very creative.
He can at times display challenging behaviour but the school does well to support the management of his behaviour, and you will be aiding in facilitating behaviour improvements as well.
The role will require you to be naturally supportive and caring. You will need to be an individual with great timekeeping to maintain consistency and offer a safe face to arrive to in the morning for the student.
You will be asked to work with other classes once in a while (maybe once per week), just based on the school’s needs, and whether the student will be in on that day.
You would be placed in a mainstream class, at times with other SEN students, this could be supporting ADHD, Challenging Behaviour, or Autism - as these are the main SENs in the school.
With your work week spanning Monday to Friday, with hours of 8:30 to 15:30, it allows for flexibility and consistency every day.

To achieve this, you will be providing the following:
*You will provide a safe environment for the children to learn AND grow
*You will have Maths and English GCSEs, and a solid knowledge surrounding Science, Art, Geography and IT
*You will be caring, and naturally supportive
*You must have a DBS or be willing to complete one
*You must also be safeguarding aware, or willing to pursue this
*You will work closely with the other TA’s (Teaching Assistants) & Teachers of the school to uphold the standards set
*You will be a positive and motivational figure, able to listen and show care
*You must be able to commit 5 days per week to maintain consistency for the students
