Mechanical Fitter

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for an exciting opportunity in the heart of Devonport? Our client in Plymouth is seeking skilled individuals to join their dynamic team on a days role. This is a contractor position with competitive pay rates ranging from £13.36 to £15.43 per hour, depending on your experience. Overtime is paid at an attractive rate of £18.03 to £20.84 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation, Repair, and Maintenance: Undertake the installation, repair, and maintenance of ship equipment.
Marine Industry Expertise: Work competently on mechanical equipment and systems within the marine defense and commercial industry.
Blueprint Reading: Read drawings, interpret work instructions, and execute tasks within specified timeframes, costs, and quality standards.
Survey and Examination: Conduct surveys and pre-refit examinations of equipment, machinery, and structures/fittings.
Testing and Set-Up: Utilize test equipment for setting to work and perform functional testing.
Tool Proficiency: Demonstrate competence in using general workshop machinery and hand tools relevant to the role of a mechanical fitter.
Safety and Cleanliness: Follow safety protocols, clean up work areas, and undertake slinging duties as required.
