Hybrid: 1 day a week in the office
The main purpose of the role is to take on accounting and finance responsibilities relating to the Bermuda-based businesses and provide sickness cover for a key individual based in Bermuda. This will involve handover sessions with a Bermuda-based finance professional with the aim of taking on and owning the processes.
The role will work to UK office hours but will involve close interaction with Bermuda-based colleagues.
To assist the Finance Manager in production of accurate management accounts, and relevant commentary, within the tight reporting deadlines within the client Finance function.
Liaise closely with regional finance teams (primarily Bermuda-based) on results and reporting.
Prepare and review reconciliations to verify the accuracy of management accounts and perform monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date variance analysis to budget and prior year on P&L.
Preparation and review of monthly reporting packs and production and review of ad hoc reporting as requested.
Assistance and support in response to external and internal audit requests.
Assistance in production of the annual budget, supported by the Finance Manager and reviewed with the regional CFO.
Lead Management Accounts reporting for Caribbean region, liaising directly with senior leadership.
Liaising with offshore processing team to control posting of month end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.
Liaising with Finance Business Partners and other departments out with the Management Accounts team to provide support for queries as they arise.
Build relationships within the wider Glasgow finance function, the finance team and the regional teams.
Help drive forward change to ensure that department and team members improve, supporting graduates and part qualified students in their development where appropriate.
Assisting in the allocation of work to team members in an efficient manner and ensure all deadlines and key priorities are met.
Ensure SOX requirements are fully met.
Assisting the Finance Manager with ah-hoc finance projects and technical tasks and taking the lead on elements of the projects.
Assist the Finance Manager with the roll-out of a new accounting package for and identify further opportunities this brings for centralisation of accounting tasks.
At the conclusion of the contract, there will be a need to transition the responsibilities either back to Bermuda or to another appropriate process owner.

University Degree
CA, ACCA, ACA qualificationTechnical Knowledge (preferable but not necessary)
US GAAP experience
Professional services background
SOX experience
Project management experience/experience of implementing new processes and/or controls.Experience
