TeacherActive are very excited to be recruiting a Year 2 teacher for an amazing Primary school in Streatham, we’re looking for an general class teacher who is passionate about inspiring young people and takes pride in making in a difference for their community. This school puts a real emphasis on ensuring that every pupil feels valued and safe, celebrating the children’s achievements is at the forefront of everything that this school does. This is a friendly and caring school, where everyone is committed to providing the very best learning opportunities for the children, both inside and outside the classroom.

We are looking for a part time Year 2 teacher, to work on Thursdays and Fridays, and share the class with our Assistant Headteacher. This is offered as a fixed-term position.

Teaching

Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work
   Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
   Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
   Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
   Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
   Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
   Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests
Qualifications & Experience:

QTS ( or equivalent )
Proven experience teaching primary curriculum
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good understanding of child development and progression and how this impacts on planning.
