Job Purpose / Overview
EDF Energy's mission is to build and operate cutting-edge nuclear plants at Hinkley Point C (HPC) in Somerset. Join the Joint Design Office (JDO), a vital organization ensuring swift engineering solutions for construction, saving time, and enhancing the project's scope. As a Structural Engineer within the PTLS Discipline Lead, your role focuses on reviewing and accepting engineering queries linked to Embedded Steelwork (Pools, Tanks, and Liners) raised by the Main Civil Contractor.
Principal Accountabilities
Responding to queries, non-conformances, and change requests during manufacturing and installation phases.
Overseeing manufacturing documents and ensuring compliance with Nuclear Safety standards.
Addressing technical risks and contributing to their resolution.
Collaborating with various stakeholders, including Contractors, Quality, and Design teams.
Reporting operationally to the PTLS Discipline Lead.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
Extensive experience applying multidisciplinary knowledge within the nuclear industry.
Proficiency in manufacturing, construction, and installation practices.
Strong background in welding engineering.
Ability to influence diverse stakeholders, especially in on-site environments.
Proactive, independent work approach with a focus on issue reporting and escalation.
