Contract Java / J2EE Developer
Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance or eligible to obtain SC
Duration: 12 months
Location: Telford - hybrid working (2 days per week on site)
Rate: 400 - 460 per day insideIR35

Urgently hiring for an experienced Java / J2EE Developer to join a delivery-focused engineering team. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise across Java, PL/SQL, Spring Boot, and WebLogic, contributing to the development, stability, and continuous improvement of critical services within a secure environment.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using Java and PL/SQL.
Build, enhance, and support application components and services using Spring Boot.
Ensure all development aligns with established engineering standards, best
practices, and security requirements.
Deploy, support, and maintain applications running on WebLogic.
Collaborate closely with team members to integrate new features and components
effectively.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including performance bottlenecks and system
defects.
Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement
initiatives.

Skills & Experience
Active SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
Strong hands-on experience with PL/SQL development.
Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
Experience deploying and supporting applications on WebLogic.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with large-scale, complex enterprise systems.
Familiarity with Agile or structured delivery environments.
Ability to understand, maintain, and improve existing codebases.
