Long Term Futures are recruiting an experienced and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a secondary school in Tower Hamlets, supporting students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

This is a varied role with a strong focus on SEN support, working closely with the SEN department and supporting a team of SEN Teaching Assistants across the school. There may also be opportunities to provide classroom cover across KS3 and KS4 where required.

This role is ideal for an experienced TA or HLTA looking to take the next step within secondary education and gain broader responsibility within a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teaching and learning across KS3, KS4 and KS5

Work closely with the SEN department to support students with additional needs

Provide guidance and day-to-day support for SEN Teaching Assistants

Deliver targeted interventions and small-group support sessions

Provide occasional classroom cover across KS3 and KS4

Promote positive behaviour, engagement and inclusion across the school

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working as a TA or HLTA within a secondary school

Strong understanding of SEN and inclusive practice

Confidence supporting students with a range of additional needs

Ability to lead small groups and support other support staff

Strong communication and classroom management skills

Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies

Location & Transport - Tower Hamlets, East London

Accessible via Whitechapel (Elizabeth Line, Overground, District & Hammersmith & City)

Close to Mile End and Stepney Green

DLR access via Shadwell, Limehouse and Poplar
