Job Specification - Band 7 Occupational Therapist (Social Services / Children's Targeted Team)

Role Title: Occupational Therapist - Advanced / Band 7
Location: London (Community / Social Services Setting
Hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00-17:00, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Temporary / Fixed Term
Pay: 27- 31 per hour (Umbrella equivalent)
Reference: Internal Ref - optional

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a children's social services team. The OT will assess home environments, recommend adaptations and equipment, and support independence for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake assessments of referrals and evaluate needs related to access, safety, and independence in the home.
Support junior staff within the team.
Complete reports and attend panels as required.
Apply knowledge of the Care Act and Disabled Facilities Grants process.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Requirements:

HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
Experience in social services or community OT settings
Strong assessment and communication skills

Desirable:

Experience with children's services and adaptation planning

Manage a caseload, conducting detailed assessments and care planning.
Deliver rehabilitation interventions in line with current guidelines.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve patient-centred outcomes.
Order and recommend equipment to optimise patient independence.

Essential Requirements:

HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
Community rehabilitation experience with adults or older adults
Strong MDT working and communication skills

Desirable:

Experience in stroke rehabilitation or specialist areas

Carry a caseload and deliver detailed assessment and treatment.
Implement patient-centred rehabilitation plans.
Collaborate with MDT members to achieve functional goals.
Recommend and manage appropriate equipment for patients.

Essential Requirements:

HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
Experience in community rehabilitation of adults
Strong communication and MDT collaboration skills
