Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Peterlee

12-month contract role (potential extension)

PAYE/Umbrella Rate available

We’re recruiting for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a global manufacturer at the forefront of articulated truck production in Peterlee. This is an excellent opportunity to support new vehicle programmes in a highly automated, state-of-the-art facility and play a key role in delivering manufacturing excellence.

The opportunity

Lead the development, analysis and delivery of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly and paint projects

*

Manage and coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) activities across the manufacturing function

*

Implement and optimise manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment to improve performance and efficiency

*

Drive process improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across the production environment

*

Undertake flow analysis, production design and manufacturing modelling to support operational improvement

*

Support the integration of manufacturing systems, controls and production technologies

What we’re looking for

*

Proven manufacturing engineering experience within heavy industry, automotive or a similarly complex production environment

*

Demonstrable expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) OR substantial manufacturing project management experience

*

Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and production equipment

*

Experience applying lean manufacturing principles to drive measurable improvements

*

An engineering degree or equivalent hands-on industry experience

This is a full-time onsite role based at the Peterlee facility.
