Role summary
We require an Infrastructure Project Manager (Contract) to drive end-to-end delivery of infrastructure change across enterprise environments. Typical initiatives include data centre and network upgrades, WAN/LAN change, cloud connectivity and migrations, firewall and security refreshes, end-user technology rollouts, and platform modernisation.
What you’ll deliver
• Own delivery from initiation to closure, controlling scope, schedule, cost, risk, and dependencies.
• Build and maintain integrated project plans, RAID logs, and decision/action tracking.
• Run governance and reporting, driving decisions and escalations where required.
• Coordinate engineering, operations, security, and third-party vendors to deliver safely with minimal service disruption.
• Manage change control and implementation readiness.
• Produce and secure approval for delivery artefacts, including project plans, cutover plans, comms plans, test plans, rollback plans, and handover packs.
• Lead testing coordination and implementation windows, including go/no-go sessions.
• Ensure operational readiness (support model, monitoring, access, runbooks) and complete a smooth transition to BAU.
Essential skills and experience
• Proven track record delivering infrastructure projects in large-scale environments.
• Strong planning, governance, RAID management, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience coordinating multi-vendor suppliers and technical delivery teams.
• Solid understanding of change management, cutover planning, and service transition.
• Comfortable working in regulated, high-availability environments and out-of-hours windows.
• Strong documentation discipline with clear, structured delivery artefacts.
Desirable
• Experience in one or more areas: networks, security, cloud, data centre, EUC, platforms.
• ITIL awareness and experience working alongside operations teams.
• Certifications such as PRINCE2, APM, ITIL, or Agile delivery exposure.
