Job Title: Interim Finance Business Partner Contract
Location: Hybrid City
Duration: 3 to 6 months extension likely
Rate and IR35: 550 Inside

Role overview
You will partner senior stakeholders to drive performance, improve decision making, and strengthen financial control across a business area. This role blends commercial insight with hands on ownership of budgeting, forecasting, management information, and performance narratives. You will challenge assumptions, surface risks early, and ensure leaders have a clear view of the numbers and the story behind them.

Key accountabilities
You will own the monthly performance cycle, providing accurate reporting, variance analysis, and forward view. You will lead budgeting and reforecasting, ensuring assumptions are documented, understood, and agreed. You will support investment cases and scenario modelling, providing options, sensitivity analysis, and clear recommendations. You will improve cost control by identifying leakage, defining actions, and tracking delivery of savings. You will work closely with Finance Operations to ensure close and reporting processes are robust, with strong controls and audit trail.

Stakeholder engagement
You will operate as a trusted partner to Heads of Department, supporting decisions with evidence and clear financial interpretation. You will influence through insight, not just reporting, and will be confident challenging senior stakeholders when plans are not credible or risks are understated.

Required experience
Strong business partnering experience within large organisations, confident stakeholder management at senior level, excellent modelling and storytelling, and strong control mindset. Financial qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.
