EYFS (Early Years) Teaching Assistant

Reception Class - 1:1 SEN Support

September Start

Contract until July 2027 with permanent opportunities from September 2027

Weekly pay: £450-£550 per week

Are you looking to make a meaningful difference during a child's first years in education?

Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs as they transition into full-time school?

Are you hoping to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting pupils who require additional guidance and encouragement?

A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Notting Hill is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. The school has a one-form entry structure, creating a close-knit environment where staff know every child by name and strong relationships are built across the school community. There is a genuine family feel, with pupils, staff and parents working closely together and supporting one another.

The Headteacher is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work within the Reception class, providing 1:1 support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who require additional support as they settle into school life. The role will involve meeting pupils at the school gates in the morning, helping establish routines, encouraging engagement with learning activities, following teacher guidance and supporting pupils' social and emotional development. You will also help implement positive behaviour strategies and use de-escalation techniques where appropriate.

This role would suit someone with previous Early Years experience, particularly supporting children with needs such as ASD, ADHD or speech and language differences. Equally, it would be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin a career within SEN education and gain hands-on experience in a supportive school environment.

The school offers:

A friendly and welcoming team

Ongoing training and development opportunities

Supportive leadership and progression pathways

Competitive weekly pay

Working hours of 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday

School holidays and half terms offIf you are passionate about supporting children during the beginning of their educational journey, we would love to hear from you. Apply today with your updated CV.
