Multi-Trade Operative

Location: Preston, Lancashire
Rate: 25 - 30 Per Hour
Working Pattern: On Site - Full time

Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for a Multi-Trade Operative to support a busy public sector estate. This is a hands-on role covering both planned and reactive maintenance, with a focus on safe working, quality repairs, and minimising disruption to building users.

You will be carrying out a range of building maintenance tasks across multiple trades and supporting the wider maintenance team to keep facilities safe, compliant and operational.

Responsibilities include

• Reactive and planned maintenance across carpentry, basic plumbing, patch plastering, painting and decorating, roofing repairs (felt, tile, slate) and floor laying
• Lock repairs and general building fabric repairs
• Setting up and clearing venues for planned events
• Keeping work areas safe, tidy, and clear, and reporting hazards promptly

About you

• Proven experience completing building trade tasks to a high standard
• Strong health and safety awareness and a practical, can-do approach
• Physically able to complete manual tasks including working at height and in confined spaces
• Full UK driving licence
• Qualifications such as NVQ Level 3+ in a relevant trade, IPAF/MEWP, working at height, manual handling, PASMA/tower scaffold, hot works
