Primary Support Assistant - Rotherham

Academics are recruiting Primary Support Assistants to work across a range of friendly and inclusive primary schools throughout Rotherham on a temporary, ongoing basis.

This role offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to gain valuable experience supporting children across different year groups and learning environments.

Position: Primary Support Assistant
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing
Pay: 92.56 - 95 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that suits you

About the Role

As a Primary Support Assistant in Rotherham, you will play an important role in helping pupils access learning and participate fully within the classroom.

You may support whole-class learning, small intervention groups, or provide one-to-one support where required, helping to create a positive and inclusive environment where children can thrive.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and are looking for flexible opportunities within education.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across primary classrooms
  Deliver small group and intervention support where required
  Assist pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks
  Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour
  Support children's emotional wellbeing and engagement
  Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
  Maintain safeguarding standards and school procedures

Candidate Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
  Experience supporting children within schools, nurseries or childcare settings
  Friendly, patient and adaptable approach
  Good communication and interpersonal skills
  Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
