Science Teacher (KS3 & KS4) – Maternity Cover

Location: Lewisham, London

Role: Science Teacher

Pay: Paid to Scale

Contract: Part-Time (4 Days per Week) 

Start Date: September/October 2026 - initial maternity cover with the potential to extend beyond the autumn term

The Supply Register is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of the Leathersellers’ Federation for a qualified Science Teacher to join the team at Prendergast Ladywell School.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering a broad science curriculum including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The successful candidate will join a supportive department committed to high-quality teaching and learning.

This part-time position is available for 4 days per week and is initially to cover a maternity leave, with the chance of the assignment continuing beyond the initial period.

Key Responsibilities – Science Teacher:

Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

Assess, monitor, and support student progress in line with school policies

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes high achievement

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4

Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
