Psychology Graduate - SEN Support Assistant

Location: Waltham Forest, East London
Start Date: September 2026 (Interviews from June)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience working with young people? Are you considering a future career in educational psychology, teaching, mental health, or therapy? This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Waltham Forest, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This role offers invaluable experience working directly with students, developing your understanding of child development, behaviour, emotional regulation, and learning support within an education setting.

• Full-time role starting September 2026 (with trial days beginning in June)
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN and additional learning needs
• Assisting teachers in delivering inclusive and differentiated lessons
• Supporting students with emotional regulation, engagement, and behaviour
• Implementing targeted interventions to support learning and wellbeing
• Gaining exposure to EHCPs, safeguarding practices, and multi-agency working

• Inclusive and welcoming secondary school environment
• Strong SEN and pastoral support structure
• Ongoing guidance and mentoring from experienced SENCOs and teaching staff
• Excellent opportunity to develop practical skills and make a real impact on students' lives

• Psychology degree (or closely related subject)
• Strong interest in SEN, mental health, or child development
• Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Reliable and committed for the full academic year
• Aspiring Educational Psychologists, Teachers, or Mental Health Practitioners are strongly encouraged to apply
