Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) - Contract - Remote (South Africa)

Location: South Africa (Fully Remote)

Projects: Middle East

Contract / Freelance Opportunity

Hourly rate: R450 - R600 per hour

The opportunity:

We have partnered with a well-established international multidisciplinary consultancy that has been delivering high-profile projects across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East for over 20 years. Due to continued project growth, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support the delivery of a range of high-profile developments across the Middle East.

This is an excellent opportunity for a South Africa-based engineer, looking to work remotely, while contributing to technically challenging and prestigious international projects.

Key responsibilities:

-Lead the electrical design of building services projects from concept through to detailed design.

-Produce high-quality designs for power distribution, lighting, small power, fire alarms, and associated electrical systems.

-Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across international offices.

-Attend project meetings and provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.

-Ensure designs comply with relevant international standards and client requirements.

Requirements:

-Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical Building Services Design.

-Degree in Electrical Engineering.

-Proven experience delivering electrical design projects within a consultancy environment.

-Strong knowledge of building services electrical systems.

-Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Amtech, Dialux, Relux, and AutoCAD.

-Ability to work independently and effectively within a remote working environment.

-Excellent communication and coordination skills.
