Ontologist (6-Month Contract)

Location: Fully Remote (Async)

Duration: 6 months (Strong potential for extension)

About the Role

We are looking for an Ontologist for a new, experimental role within our Platform Mission. Initially focusing on categories like audiobooks and podcast topics, you will quickly expand into AI-related work.

Instead of media content, your focus will be on data and internal knowledge management. You will partner closely with engineers to structure internal domains like teams, projects, and strategies.

Team & Environment

The team is fully remote and distributed across Pacific time, Dublin, Stockholm, and Amsterdam. We rely heavily on asynchronous communication (Slack and documentation), with meetings kept to overlapping hours.

Key Requirements

Strong background in data and internal knowledge management (not media content).

Deep understanding of semantic standards and frameworks (RDF, OWL, SKOS).

Experience querying graph data using SPARQL

Ability to collaborate closely with engineers to build internal domains.

Excellent interdisciplinary and asynchronous communication skills.

Comfortable with ambiguity, testing new ideas, and learning on the go.

Process

30-minute values interview with the manager.

60-minute partner group interview.
