Project Manager - HV Transmission & Substations

12 Month Contract
Outside IR35
UK Wide - Hybrid / Site Based

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage delivery of high-voltage substation and transmission projects from start to finish.
Coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams.
Act as main contact for clients and stakeholders.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Track programme, costs, risks, and changes.
Support planning, reporting, and project execution activities.
Oversee subcontractors and suppliers.
Support design reviews and construction planning.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
Support project close-out and handover.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Engineering or similar field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years' experience in transmission, utilities, or power infrastructure.
Experience delivering HV substation or EPC projects.
Strong understanding of UK power networks and substations.
Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project delivery.
Knowledge of CDM regulations and site safety requirements.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Able to manage multiple priorities at once.
Competent with Microsoft Office tools.
Willing to travel across the UK.

DESIRABLE:
Experience with National Grid or UK DNO projects.
Experience at 132kV-400kV level.
NEC contract awareness.
Professional membership (APM, IET, ICE) preferred.
