Full-Time | Central London | ASAP/September Start

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a warm and supportive team in a specialist school. This exciting role is to teach a lovely KS1 class of students with ASD and SLD, following a sensory curriculum. The class is settled, with no behavioural challenges, and you will benefit from strong and consistent classroom support.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives on creating engaging, personalised learning experiences for young learners in a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities for this role:

Supporting students

Teach and mentor small groups of students.

Develop a clear understanding of the educational needs of each child.

Deliver a sensory-based curriculum tailored to individual learning styles.

Support students to learn as effectively as possible in class, group, and 1:1 situations.

Establish strong, supportive relationships with students.

Encourage integration and inclusion across all aspects of school life.

Promote and reinforce students' confidence, self-esteem, and independence.

Keep students on task, motivated, and engaged.

Undertake break and lunchtime duties where needed to support students, particularly those with ASD.

Provide support with physical or sensory needs, where required.

Supporting the SENDCO

Work collaboratively with the SENDCO, HLTA, and TA team to deliver outstanding provision.

Lead on HLTA and TA timetabling, ensuring effective classroom support.

Line manage and mentor support staff within the classroom.

Support with SEND student profile updates and targeted monitoring.

Contribute to intervention reviews by providing regular feedback on student progress.

Act as a tutor, monitoring the academic progress and emotional well-being of a small group of students.

You may be suitable for this post if you meet the following criteria:

You are available to start in a full-time capacity.

You have proven experience working in SEN, ideally with KS1/primary-aged students.

You are confident in teaching a sensory-based curriculum.

You can commute to Central London daily from October onwards.

You are able to commit until the end of term initially, with the possibility of a long-term or permanent role.

✨ This is a rewarding opportunity to teach a delightful KS1 class, supported by a highly skilled team, in a nurturing environment where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive.
