HGV Class 2 Driver - Council Placement - Worksop

£14.67 per hour Monday to Friday No Tramping Early Finishes Ongoing Work

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy Council operation based in Worksop.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for stable, long-term work with regular hours, local routes and a better work-life balance. With no nights out, no weekend requirements and early finishes, this role offers a welcome change from general haulage and multi-drop driving.

• £14.67 per hour

• Day shifts: 6:00am - 2:30pm

As part of the Council's waste management team, you will operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle across designated routes in and around Worksop.

In addition to driving duties, you will support the collection team with loading activities where required to ensure routes are completed safely and efficiently.

• Operate an HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicle safely and professionally

• Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reporting

• Assist with the collection of domestic and commercial waste

• Support loading activities as part of the wider collection team

• Follow all road transport, health & safety and operational procedures

• Work effectively with colleagues to complete daily routes

• Provide a professional service when interacting with members of the public

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence

• Valid CPC qualification

• Digital Tachograph Card

• Minimum 2 years' Class 2 driving experience

• Comfortable with manual handling and outdoor work

• Reliable, punctual and team-focused approach

Previous experience within refuse collection, waste management, recycling or local authority services would be advantageous but is not essential.
