Finance Business Partner
Finance Business Partner To support the provision of professional and evidence-based management information to support the long-term sustainability of the Council and its trusted partners. To work within the commercial ethos of the council so that any decision taken is done so following an assessment of commercial viability and opportunity. To work as part of a proactive, customer-focussed team that supports the achievement of the Council and its partners long-term vision.
KEY TASKS Finance Business Partner
1. Proactively support colleagues to ensure the provision of reliable, effective and timely financial support and advice that contributes to the achievement of their objectives 2. Represent the Senior Finance Business Partner as and when required in internal and external scenarios and to display the behaviours and values expected in a positive and professional manner
3. Support the provision of proactive, solution-focussed advice and guidance to the organisation to enable innovation and commercialism within the realms of the Councils procurement and finance procedure rules.
4. Be an effective team member seeking out development opportunities to support succession planning so that the team is operating to the expected standard of a high performing, excellent, finance business partnering function.
5. Support the delivery of the councils financial sustainability and resilience by working with the team to provide insight and intelligence to predict and model demand management.,
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Finance Business Partner
People Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner but will work across the wider Council and partnerships Develop professional relationships across the Council, employees and other key stakeholders Support the training and development needs of the team by a variety of means including attendance at awaydays, attending in-house training, completion of learning needs assessments and skills frameworks to ensure a whole team approach to possessing a full range of skills and abilities that supports effective succession planning
Develop key relationships across the Business Management Directorate Financial Organise effective evidence to support the team in demonstrating that taxpayers money is allocated and spent according to the councils priority outcomes, minimising the overlap and duplication of spend and activity via an outcomesbased budgeting process
Ensure the integrity of data within the key financial systems so that financial data is being captured, stored, managed and monitored effectively and is fit for purpose, accurate and in line with various reporting requirements
Provide support and advice to enable income generating ideas and projects to become a reality and effectively managed Strategic
Support the delivery of the councils financial sustainability and resilience by working with the team to provide insight and intelligence to predict and model demand management
