Class 1 Driver - Ad Hoc Cover (Temp to Perm Opportunity as Business Grows)

Location: Linwood

Pay: £15.81 per hour

Contract: Temporary (Ad Hoc)

TM Scotland are excited to be partnering with a new client in Irvine to recruit a professional and reliable Class 1 driver, as they continue to grow their operations.

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to provide ad hoc cover for our client's transport operation. This role offers ongoing flexible work, with the potential to move to a temp-to-perm position as the business continues to expand.

Job Purpose

To safely and efficiently transport goods between customer and depot locations while maintaining high standards of compliance, safety, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport products between depots and customer sites
• Carry out regular vehicle safety and compliance checks, reporting defects promptly
• Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and tachograph legislation
• Work in accordance with all training, company policies, and Risk Assessments
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness inside and out

HGV Class 1 Driver Duties

• Carry out general driving duties in line with legal and best-practice standards
• Use electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) systems and telematics technology (full training provided)
• Assist with loading and unloading where required

Skills and Qualifications

• Full UK C+E (Class 1) driving licence
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience
• Excellent driving and communication skills
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence
• No previous driving disqualifications
• Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended driving periods
• Ability to assist with loading/unloading when required
