Job Title: Teacher of Maths

Salary: MPS/UPS (Classroom Teachers' Pay Scale)

Contract: Full-time (STPCD)

About the Role

A secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a Teacher of Maths to deliver high-quality teaching and support strong pupil outcomes. You will join a supportive department committed to high standards, progress, and engaging learning.

Purpose

To provide high-quality teaching and ensure pupils achieve well in a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment, in line with STPCD.

Key Responsibilities

Teach Maths classes as allocated

Plan and deliver high-quality lessons

Set and mark homework regularly

Track, assess, and report on pupil progress

Support behaviour and attendance standards

Contribute to curriculum planning and schemes of work

Attend meetings and parents' evenings

Support pupils with additional needs

Act as a Form Tutor

Contribute to enrichment and extra-curricular activities

Work as directed by the Headteacher

Person Specification

QTS or equivalent

Strong Maths subject knowledge

Ability to teach effectively across abilities

Commitment to high standards and student progress

Good classroom management skills
