Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm)

Pay Rate: £20.11 per hour

About the Role

South Tyneside Council is seeking an experienced Stock Condition Assessor to join the Community Operations Asset Management Team on a temporary basis.

Working across the Council's social housing portfolio, you will be responsible for undertaking stock condition assessments, Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) surveys and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessments. You will play a key role in supporting investment programmes, maintaining accurate asset data and ensuring homes remain safe, sustainable and compliant with current legislation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong technical knowledge and experience in asset management and property surveying.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out stock condition surveys across the Council's housing stock to support planned investment programmes.

Undertake Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessments and maintain accurate records.

Conduct Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) inspections and produce supporting reports.

Respond to repairs and maintenance queries and assist with developing work packages and specifications.

Validate and maintain asset management data using specialist software systems.

Support the preparation of estimates, specifications and health and safety documentation in line with CDM regulations.

Identify trends and anomalies to support future capital investment decisions and deliver value for money.

Work closely with tenants, residents, colleagues and stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service and estate sustainability.

Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, legislation and Council procedures.

Contribute to continuous improvement and the achievement of South Tyneside Council's strategic objectives. Essential Requirements

Experience carrying out stock condition surveys within social housing or a similar environment.

Knowledge of asset management principles, planned maintenance and housing standards.

Experience undertaking HHSRS surveys and/or EPC assessments.

Ability to analyse and manage property data using asset management systems.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and construction practices.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Additional Requirements

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
