Position: Teaching Assistant - SEND SupportLocation: Liverpool Primary & SEND SchoolsStart Date: Immediate & Full-time opportunities from Summer Term 2026Aspire People are working in partnership with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary and SEND schools across Liverpool, who are seeking compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join their teams. Opportunities are available on an ad hoc, short-term, and long-term basis immediately, with full-time roles commencing in the final Summer half term and continuing into the next academic year.This is an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and who have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.Our partner schools reflect the diverse and supportive nature of Liverpool's education community, all sharing a commitment to inclusive education, nurturing environments, and ensuring every child reaches their full potential regardless of their needs or background.The role: Providing targeted support to pupils with SEND across EYFS, KS1 & KS2 in both mainstream and specialist settings Supporting children on a one-to-one basis or in small groups depending on individual needs Assisting class teachers and SENDCos in delivering tailored support plans, interventions, and classroom adaptations Supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional well-being Helping pupils access the full curriculum and remain engaged in learning Working collaboratively with school staff, parents, and external professionalsWhat we're looking for: Strong behaviour management experience is essential Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar SEND support role A patient, caring, and empathetic approach Confidence supporting children with a range of additional needs Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff Flexible and adaptable approach to working across different school settings Excellent communication skills Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Ability to provide two professional references A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)What we offer: A supportive partnership with Aspire People - benefit from our experience and dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.
