About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Repair & Maintenance Supervisor to join our team within the water utilities sector, based near Peterborough. This role is responsible for overseeing field-based repair and maintenance activities, including extensive work on water pipework systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.

You will lead and coordinate a team of 10 two-person crews, carrying out installation, repair, and maintenance of pipelines, fittings, and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day repair and maintenance operations across water network assets, including pipework systems

Manage and support 10 gangs (2-person teams) across multiple sites

Oversee installation, repair, and replacement of UPVC, ductile iron, and other water pipework

Lead, motivate, and develop teams to achieve performance targets

Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Plan and coordinate reactive and preventative maintenance schedules

Monitor productivity, quality, and performance of field teams

Investigate pipeline faults, leaks, and failures, implementing effective solutions

Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders

Manage materials, equipment, and resources efficiently

Maintain accurate records and reporting

About You

Proven experience in a supervisory role within water or utilities

Experience managing multiple field teams/gangs

Strong knowledge of water pipework, network repairs, and maintenance

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Good understanding of health & safety regulations (HSE)

Ability to manage competing priorities and respond to emergencies

IT competent (reporting and scheduling systems)

Full UK driving licence

Desirable

Technical or engineering qualification

Experience in pipeline construction, leakage detection, or pressure systems

Knowledge of WIRS or Water UK standards
