English Teacher Temp to Perm (East London)

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and fully qualified English Teacher to join a secondary school in East London. This is a fulltime temp to perm opportunity starting September 2026.

The school offers a supportive environment, strong departmental structure, and excellent professional development opportunities. You will be joining a committed English team delivering high teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Role Summary

We are looking for an English Teacher who:

Holds QTS and has solid, proven teaching experience

Can confidently deliver English at KS3, KS4 and KS5

Has strong subject knowledge and a track record of raising attainment

Brings enthusiasm, professionalism and a positive classroom presence

Works well within a collaborative department

Hours: 8:00am 3:30pm/4:00pm + parents evenings

Pay: Inner London Pay Scale

Commitment: Full time only

Essential Requirement

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

English‑related degree

PGCE / SCITT / Teach First (or equivalent)

Experienced teachers only - not open to ECTs

DBS - or willingness to obtain oneTO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
