A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Commercial Estate Surveyor to join its Property Services team and take responsibility for the management of a diverse commercial property portfolio..

Key Responsibilities

Managing a commercial property portfolio on behalf of the council

Handling landlord and tenant matters

Undertaking rent reviews and lease renewals

Managing lettings and negotiating new leases

Service charge management, administration and recovery

Processing assignments, sublettings, licences and wayleaves

Managing arrears and maintaining positive tenant relationships

Conducting property inspections and general estate management duties

Identifying and delivering income generation opportunities

Supporting asset management initiatives and portfolio performance improvements

Providing professional property advice to internal stakeholders

Experience

Significant experience managing commercial property portfolios

Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and practice

Experience undertaking rent reviews, lease renewals and lease negotiations

A proven track record in estate management and income generation

Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills

The ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision

Strong report writing and communication skills

Desirable

MRICS qualified

Previous experience working within a Local Authority or public sector property environment
