Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistants

Torfaen (Primary & Secondary) - September Start

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for supporting young people in their education? We are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work across primary and secondary schools throughout Torfaen, starting in September 2026.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and helping pupils to achieve their full potential. You will work across both primary and secondary school settings, supporting individuals and small groups, assisting with classroom activities, and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teaching and learning across the classroom

Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

Assist in delivering lesson activities and resources

Encourage pupil engagement and positive behaviour

Provide additional support for learners with varying needs

Promote the use and development of the Welsh language

Requirements:

Fluent Welsh speaker (essential)

Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A proactive and supportive approach to learning

Passion for education and the Welsh language

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Ability to provide two professional references

What We Offer:

Competitive daily pay: £97 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
