SEND, SEMH, ASD & PMLD Teaching Assistants Needed September Starts

Some children just need the right person beside them.

Protocol Education is looking for passionate, proactive and caring Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) in schools from September onwards.

We're looking for people who genuinely want to make a difference. The kind of people who stay calm during challenging moments, celebrate the little wins and understand that every child's journey looks different.

Experience in schools is brilliant, but it's not essential.

We'd also love to hear from people with backgrounds in youth work, care, coaching, support work, mental health, residential settings or roles supporting children and adults with additional needs. If you've got the right attitude and a real passion for helping young people thrive, we can help with the rest.

The role may include:

• Supporting children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups• Working with pupils with ASD, SEMH and complex needs including PMLD• Helping children manage emotions, communication and engagement in learning• Supporting sensory, personal care or wellbeing routines where needed• Building positive relationships and creating trust• Working closely with teachers and SEND teams• Creating a safe, supportive and encouraging environment

We're looking for people who are:

• Patient, resilient and empathetic• Passionate about SEND, SEMH and inclusive education• Calm and confident supporting a range of needs• Reliable, adaptable and happy to get stuck in• Great at building relationships with children and school staff• Available from September onwards
