Nursery Assistant – Flexible Work Across Essex

Location: Essex

Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour

Job Type: Temporary / Flexible Work

Working Hours: Flexible shifts available between 8:00am – 6:00pm

TeacherActive are currently working with a variety of fantastic nurseries across Essex who are looking for enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to support their teams on a temporary and flexible basis.

As an Early Years Consultant at TeacherActive, I work closely with nurseries across Essex to provide reliable, passionate, and hardworking staff members to support their settings. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for flexible nursery work within supportive and welcoming early years environments.

The successful candidate will be caring, reliable, energetic, and able to work well as part of a team to support children’s learning and development in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting children with play-based learning and daily activities

• Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and positive nursery environment

• Assisting nursery practitioners with day-to-day routines

• Encouraging children’s social, emotional, and physical development

• Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members

• Supporting meal times, indoor and outdoor activities, and personal care routines

• Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children is desirable

• A childcare qualification is beneficial but not essential

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• A genuine passion for supporting children within early years settings

• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
