Vision for Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Blackburn to recruit an SEND Teaching Assistant Blackburn, Lancashire. This rewarding SEND Teaching Assistant Blackburn, Lancashire role is due to start in September 2026 and will continue for the 2026/27 academic year, with the potential for a permanent position in 2027 for the right candidate.

As an SEND Teaching Assistant Blackburn, Lancashire, you will be supporting pupils within an Early Years setting on a 1:1 basis. This SEND Teaching Assistant Blackburn, Lancashire role will involve working closely with children who have additional needs, including non-verbal pupils with autism and speech and language difficulties.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEND in Key Stage 1
• Supporting non-verbal pupils, including those with autism and speech, language and communication needs
• Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
• Promoting engagement, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Working collaboratively with class teachers and the wider SEND team
