Job Title:

Capital Delivery Efficiencies Lead

Contract and Perm Opportunity

Role:

The efficiencies lead will play a critical, subject matter expert role, in ensuring Capital Delivery water sector projects generate efficiency.

This position focuses on integrating cost-saving opportunities into project cost plans, conducting in-depth reviews of schemes, analysing regulatory commitments and assessing deliverability challenges against proposed opportunities.

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic thinking to optimise project delivery across various water and wastewater programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Custodianship of Process:

o To enhance our approach to identifying and understanding efficiencies and develop associated processes to explore, challenge and create ways to convert them into tangible/measurable opportunities and value creation.

- Efficiency Integration:

o Identify and embed opportunities for cost optimisation within project budgets without compromising quality or compliance.

o Work with delivery team to innovate delivery models and methodologies to maximise efficiencies.

- Stakeholder Collaboration:

o Work closely with senior programme leads, delivery teams, and finance teams to align efficiency goals with delivery requirements.

o Support decision-making at senior levels to adopt best practices in efficient project delivery.

- Project Reviews & Assurance:

o Conduct detailed reviews of project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure alignment with efficiency objectives / or proposed models

o Assess deliverability challenges against initiatives that are complex to achieve as efficiency

o Provide expert advice on efficiencies mapping and assurance process and efficiency trade-offs against key commitments

- Analytical Reviews:

o Predictive analytical review on efficiency pipeline register for certainty on pipeline delivery to industry standards.

- Continuous Improvement:

o Drive adoption of Lean principles, value engineering, and digital tools to enhance project performance.

o Monitor and report on efficiency gains and delivery outcomes.

Core Skills & Competencies:

- Strong ability to integrate efficiency opportunities into constrained budgets.

- Expertise in project delivery methodologies within the water sector.

- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying cost-saving measures.

- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements, especially Water sector

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

- Familiarity with digital project management tools and data-driven decision-making
