Site Manager

Location: Sunderland, North East

Our client is looking to add a National Grid SR163 Authorised Site Manager to support major transmission and infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor delivering critical works within the National Grid network. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring compliance with National Grid procedures, and delivering projects safely, on time and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site activities on National Grid projects.
• Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
• Review and implement RAMS, permits and work packs.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and toolbox talks.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers and stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and report on programme, costs and resources.
• Ensure all site documentation is completed accurately and maintained.
• Drive a positive safety culture across all site activities.

Requirements

• Current National Grid SR163 Site Manager authorisation.
• Proven experience managing transmission, substation or National Grid infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of National Grid safety rules and operational procedures.
• SMSTS qualification.
• CSCS card.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience working on National Grid substations and transmission projects.
• Previous experience working for principal contractors within the power sector.
