Highways Jetting Operative x2
Location: Portsmouth
Rate: £14-17/Hour CIS (DOE)
Contract Duration: Mid-July 2026 - April 2027
Hours: Monday to Friday Nights

Are you an experienced Highways Jetting Operative looking for long-term, consistent night work? We are seeking two operatives to join a highways drainage programme in Portsmouth, carrying out the surveying and cleansing of surface water drainage systems. This is an excellent opportunity to secure work through to April 2027 at a competitive rate, working on an important highways maintenance project.

The Role

Working as part of a specialist drainage team, you will be responsible for surveying and cleansing surface water runs across the highway network, ensuring drainage assets remain operational and free from blockages. The role will involve operating high-pressure jetting equipment and supporting drainage maintenance activities during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

High-pressure water jetting of highway drainage systems.
Surveying and cleansing surface water runs and associated drainage assets.
Identifying and reporting drainage defects, blockages, and maintenance requirements.
Operating jetting vehicles and associated equipment safely and effectively.
Ensuring all works are completed in line with health and safety procedures.
Completing relevant records and site documentation.

Essential Requirements

Valid HGV Licence.
High Pressure Water Jetting qualification/certification.
Valid CSCS Card.
Previous experience working within highways drainage or drainage maintenance.
Ability to work Monday to Friday night shifts.
Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
